Day 5: Sustainability, School Life, and Exploring the Heart of Warsaw

Our fifth day began with a special event that tied perfectly into the theme of sustainability introduced earlier in the week—a clothes swap organized by the Polish and Italian students. This creative and eco-friendly initiative encouraged everyone to bring gently used clothes and exchange them with others. The event was not only fun and fashion-forward, but also served as a hands-on way to promote conscious consumption and give new life to pre-loved items.

After the swap, our Italian guests had the chance to experience what everyday school life looks like at CLV LO. They attended two lessons—maths and history—observing how classes are conducted in Poland. It was a great opportunity to compare educational systems, teaching styles, and student interactions.

Following the morning activities, we headed to the school canteen for lunch, where we enjoyed another delicious meal and recharged for the afternoon ahead.

Later, we set off to explore one of Warsaw’s most iconic areas—the Old Town. Accompanied by a knowledgeable and enthusiastic tour guide, we wandered through its charming cobblestone streets, admired the colorful buildings, and learned about the city’s rich history and remarkable reconstruction after World War II. From the Royal Castle to the Market Square, every corner had a story, and our guests were fascinated by the blend of beauty, resilience, and culture that defines Warsaw’s historic heart.
